What is SculpSure?
SculpSure is an advanced laser device Dr. Marzili uses to gently eliminate areas of fat that won’t go away even with diet and exercise. Although SculpSure is very effective and creates permanent results, it’s not intended for weight loss. As a result, it works best on patients who are near their healthy weight already.
SculpSure is cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to remove fat under your chin and on your abdomen, flanks, back, inner thighs, and outer thighs.
How does SculpSure work?
The SculpSure laser uses a wavelength that’s absorbed by fat cells but safely passes through other tissues, including your skin.
As fat cells absorb the laser’s energy, they’re heated to a temperature that destroys the cells. After they break down, your body naturally removes the waste, so they’re gone for good.
What should I expect during SculpSure treatment?
The SculpSure system is equipped with four applicators. Dr. Marzili either uses them together to cover a large area or individually to treat smaller body areas or multiple areas at one time.
After securing the applicators directly against your skin, Dr. Marzili turns the SculpSure system on and it sends laser energy directly to the targeted pocket of fat.
During your 25-minute session, the laser turns on and off as needed to maintain a steady temperature in the fat cells. Each applicator contains a built-in cooling system to keep your skin comfortable. Between the two, you’ll feel cycles of warmth alternating with coolness throughout your treatment.
Most patients tolerate their laser treatment well, reporting only feelings of warmth and a slight tingling sensation. However, each person’s sensitivity is different.
How long does it take to see results from SculpSure?
After your treatment, your skin may be slightly red, swollen, or tender, but these side effects do not last long. You can plan on getting back to your normal routine as soon as your session is over.
Your fat cells do not suddenly break down and get immediately cleared away; the process takes a little time. You’ll begin to see results in about six weeks and you’ll enjoy the full effects within 12 weeks. You may lose up to 24% of the fat cells treated with just one SculpSure treatment.*
